How to Use Past Papers the Right Way to Score Higher in SEE

eTayari Team ยท 6 August 2026

Most students read past papers like a book. Here is how to actually use them to find your weak spots and improve your marks.

Almost every SEE student knows they should practice past papers. But most students use them the wrong way. They read the questions, nod along, and feel prepared. Then the real exam surprises them. Past papers are not for reading. They are for practising. Here is how to get the most out of them. Solve them like the real exam. Sit down with a pen, a blank sheet, and a timer. Give yourself the same time you will get in the real exam. Do not look at your notes. This is the only way to know if you can actually answer under pressure. Do not stop when you get stuck. In a real exam you cannot simply give up on a hard question. If you are stuck, move on, finish the rest, and come back. Practising this now trains you to manage your time on exam day. Check your own answers honestly. After you finish, go back through your notes and textbook and mark yourself as strictly as a teacher would. The goal is not a high fake score. The goal is to find out exactly what you got wrong. Look for patterns. After a few papers, you will notice the same types of questions coming up again and again. You will also notice the same topics tripping you up. Write these weak topics down. That list is your personal study plan. Repeat the ones you failed. The topics you got wrong are the most valuable. Study them again, then try similar questions a week later. A topic is only truly learned when you can answer it correctly after some time has passed. On eTayari you can find real SEE past papers to practise with, organised by subject, so you always know what to work on next. Pick one paper this week, solve it properly, and see where you really stand.
